SmartThings

In my previous entry, I spoke about home security.  For several weeks I have been following the progress of a startup company appropriately called "SmartThings".  This company provides a means of connecting everyday objects to the internet. For example, here is one of their motion detectors in action.





This is exactly the type of thing that I am interested into getting.  By having this, I will be notified if someone breaks into my home.  Then I will have the option of calling the police, or a neighbor to go intervene.


Apparently it does not stop there.  SmartThings also has other sensors that connect to the internet, completely raising the bar when it comes to home security.





This is something that I am dying to get my hands on since if I were to implement it to Denise, it will give her a connection to the real world.  The possibilities are literally endless since just about anything can be used with the SmartThings hub.


I am pleased to announce that I have confirmed that I will be getting one in mid November and am excited to think of everything I can do when I combine the SmartThings hub to Denise.
